Can I apply to the ‘Research in the Medical Sciences’ module for 2020?
Unfortunately no, the research module is not being offered in 2020.
How are the days structured?
Each module runs from Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM with a one hour break for lunch. There are labs and lectures in the morning and afternoon. Please note despite our best efforts, sometimes scientific experiments will run after 5 PM and we encourage students to stay behind to finish them.
I’m going into grade 10 next year. Can I apply to the Med YSP?
Unfortunately, no. You must be currently enrolled in Grades 10 and 11 for the 2019-2020 school year (or going into Grades 11 and 12 in the Fall of 2020) to be eligible for the Med YSP.
What are the admissions criteria?
Students applying to the University of Toronto’s Med YSP must have completed grade 10 or 11 by July 1st, 2020. Students who are currently in grades 9 are not eligible for Med YSP. Students in Grade 12 can attend but will need to speak with a MED YSP program staff before registering. Admission is on a first-come-first-served basis.
How does the admissions process work?
Registration is run on a first-come-first-served basis. Once you have registered for the program and paid the fees, you will receive an email confirming that we have received it. This email should come to you within a couple of days of receiving the application. The confirmation email will contain more information about supplemental forms and documents which need to be completed as well as an Information Package for Students, Parents, and Guardians. You must complete your supplemental package by the deadline listed in your registration email. If the program is currently full, you can always sign up for the mailing list.
